Hope Loop Building Site

OregonBILDS is developing a modest parcel of land in West Eugene over the span of six years or more. This site, in an existing residential neighborhood, was donated by Homes For Good (HACSA). There is a city bus stop a half block from the north edge, a city bike path at the southern edge, and an improved city street along the west edge. The first OregonBILDS house was constructed on the northernmost portion of the site, and subsequent houses are designed and constructed immediately to the south.

An early goal for the project was to explore the cultural, ecological, and logistical opportunities and limitations found at the building site. The team then integrates a livable and sustainable building into the existing context.
